Toilet and Sanitation Awareness Programme
Through Aram Child Foundation Trust, a comprehensive Toilet and Sanitation Awareness Programme was conducted across villages in the Ellapuram Block, Uthukkottai Taluk, Thiruvallur District.
As part of the initiative, our team directly reached out to more than 700 women heads of households and created awareness about the importance of having and regularly using sanitary toilets. The sessions highlighted the vital role of proper sanitation in preventing diseases, maintaining personal and family hygiene, protecting the dignity and safety of women and children, and creating a healthier community.
Following the awareness sessions, the participating women took a pledge to promote and practice proper sanitation and toilet usage in their homes and communities. As a gesture of encouragement and to support their commitment towards better hygiene practices, sanitation and hygiene kits were distributed to the beneficiaries.
This initiative aimed to encourage sustainable sanitation practices at the household level and contribute towards building cleaner, healthier, and more dignified rural communities.
