A Handicraft Skills Development Programme was successfully conducted for children in M.N. Chathiram Village, near Periyapalayam, Uthukottai Taluk, Tiruvallur District. More than 20 children actively participated in the programme with great enthusiasm and interest.
As part of the initiative, the children were provided with practical training in making various handicraft and creative items. The trainers guided them step-by-step on how to use the materials, develop creative designs, and transform simple materials into useful and decorative handicraft products.
To ensure that every child could actively participate and practice the skills learned during the session, the necessary handicraft materials and supporting resources were purchased and provided to the children free of cost.
The programme was designed not only to introduce children to handicraft activities but also to encourage creativity, imagination, concentration, patience, problem-solving ability, and practical skills. The hands-on learning approach provided the children with an opportunity to explore their individual talents and express their creativity.
The children participated enthusiastically throughout the training and showed considerable interest in learning new techniques. The activity also helped create a positive and engaging learning environment where children could learn through “Learning by Doing.”
